Another Amazing Anthology Wedding!

When I mentioned in my last blog post that we had a chock-full wedding season- I wasn't lying. 60+ weddings later...I've finally found some time to start posting again. I promise I will get better at this! haha...

What a FANTASTIC 2011 wedding season we had here at Anthology Studio!! We were ALL OVER New York State spreading the word of Anthology to those near and far! From Lake Placid, to Cooperstown and everywhere in-between, we really got the chance to spread our wings this year and show a few more people exactly what Anthology Studio is made of! And now, we'd like to share it with all of you!

To kick it back off, let's start with an AMAZING wedding we did in September at the Palace Theater in Albany, NY. Tehra and Juan had a fantastic vision for their wedding and if I do say so myself, we pulled it off flawlessly.

The ceremony started in the entrance way to the theater with gorgeous draping by Total Events LLC and an Anthology custom monogram and tie backs hand-made from gold magnolia leaves!

After the ceremony, guests retreated up to the balcony where they were welcomed by another Anthology original gold tree and a biscuit bar!! Yum!!

Onto the reception! Held on the stage of the Palace Theater, Tehra and Juan were truly the stars of the show!

A HUGE thank you to Tehra and Juan for allowing us to transform this amazing space into a venue fit for a queen and king! We loved every aspect that we created for your wedding! Taia from Inspired Occasions Wedding Planning said the tree and the monogram were her two favorite pieces all night! CONGRATULATIONS to a truly beautiful couple!

Spring Wedding at The Vista at Van Patten Golf Course 4/2/11

April is upon us, as well as a chock-full wedding season! We started Spring off with a beautiful Pink and White wedding at The Vista in Clifton Park, NY. Lori and Telly Jones tied the knot at St. John's the Evangelist Church in Schenectady, NY- just around the corner from the studio!

Telly, the groom, sported a White mini calla to match his blushing bride <3

Lori's selection of pink and white flowers were beautiful!! For her bouquet we used a fresh mix of peonies, calla lilies, roses and freesia accented with diamonds to give that little big of sparkle!

Her bridesmaids were very similar in style, a little bit smaller and without the peonies to distinguish the bride from her maids.

As a special surprise to each the Mother of Bride and the Mother of the Groom, Lori and Telly presented the ladies with miniature bridal bouquets at the reception!

The Vista at Van Patten Golf Course was the perfect setting for Lori and Telly's friends and family to celebrate. Bright sun-rays filled the room as white and pink arrangements atop a floating pink rose set the mood for the rest of the evening.

Lori picked some really great flowers with a ton of character to bring life and color to The Vista. White hydrangeas were adorned with roses, star gazer lilies, stock, lisianthus and freesia to create tons of texture throughout the arrangements.

Congratulations again to Lori and Telly!! Thank you for inviting us to be a part of your beautiful day and to help us kick off our Spring Wedding Season!!! May your Anthology of life be ever adorned with flowers and love.

Photoshoot with Tiffany Wayne Photography!!

A few weeks back an amazing local photographer, Tiffany Wayne, approached us to do a couple custom floral pieces for a fashion photoshoot she was shooting. I had met Tiffany a few months earlier at a Bizness Hour networking 'thingamajig' and was really impressed by her style and personality (and of course her work). She has a really artistic style about her photography and that is definitely a quality we look for in other professionals.

We were super excited to "create whatever you want! Something you've been dying to do!" Immediately Evan and I started brainstorming. Rattling off names of awesome flowers; ranunculus, parrot tulips, anemones, proteas, and we didn't stop there.

We knew it had to be high-style, fashion forward and definitely something you would never get from a traditional florist. We have a quite refined design style here at Anthology Studio and we never compromise our quality and style for anything. So a high-fashion photo shoot was right up our alley.

We decided because the shoot was going to be full of awesome floral prints, we did not want to conflict with what the models would be wearing. We went for a very clean, sleek design of a single type of flower in each (above: parrot tulips; below: ranunculus) and our design expertise served us well! Tiffany got some AMAZING photos at the shoot and we could not be more proud to have been a part of it all!

After the shoot, Tiffany gave us a call and told us she'd love to give us something in return for our donation of the arrangements. We were thrilled! (This rarely happens...) She offered to do professional head-shots for our brand new website that Evan just designed and wrote! AHH! How could we say "No"?? (Needless to say, we didn't...) and here are runner ups!! Anthology Studio, Flowers, Events, Weddings, Design

(Blushing with head hung in shame...) DON'T HATE US! haha...It's been a while (ok, quite a while) since we last wrote, what can I say? Things have been BUSY! And to be quite frank, that is just the way we like it! In the past few months we have not only created some AMAZING weddings and events, but are now a Preferred Vendor of the Mazzone Group!! Our 2011 Wedding Season is jammed packed with some really awesome weddings that we absolutely cannot wait to get to! (For all you 2012 Brides, get a hold of us!! We are booking fast!)

Let's see what we've missed as time seems to have slipped through our hands...Our Thanksgiving Workshop was a hit! Small, personal and creative, the perfect setting to be Thankful for.

December came quickly and brought with it a gorgeous "Silver & Gold" wedding for Brianna & Mike at the Hall of Springs in Saratoga just 1 week before Christmas. Ornaments and candle light adorned the Hall while two of our custom trees sparkled behind the Bride and Groom, creating a truly intimate and warm setting for the newlyweds and their guests.

December is usually not the best time of year for peonies (oh, we can get them, but you're going to be paying a liiiittle extra...). Our Bride, Brianna, absolutely loves peonies but decided to go without them on her wedding day, so Mike called us a month or so before the wedding with a plan. He wanted to personally buy the (ridiculously priced) peonies as a surprise to his blushing Bride on her wedding day. When I walked into the Gideon Putnam and showed her her bouquet, I've never seen a girl smile so wide. Mission was a success! This truly paved the way to an awesome night (and an awesome marriage).

Congratulations to Brianna and Mike. May your Anthology of life be as beautiful and long lasting as your bouquet. (She said she can't bare to part with it. haha)

We didn't get much time to unwind from the wedding before it was Christmas week! We held another fantastic Holiday Centerpiece Workshop and made some gorgeous centerpieces for our friends, family and clients.

We rang in 2011 with not only one beautiful wedding, but two! Both with such different styles, colors and flare- they were awesome! Our first wedding, Chelsea & Nick, tied the knot at the Museum of Dance in Saratoga. Laden with purple, Chelsea literally drove around (to as far as Massachusetts!) to every HomeGoods store in a 200 mile radius to obtain these awesome purple vases that every store had only 2 of. Gotta love a dedicated bride. She also put full control into our hands. "I trust you" are a designers favorite words, and if we do say so ourselves, we did not disappoint.

The mixture of textures and colors worked so well in every aspect of these flowers and throughout the wedding. The Museum was the perfect setting for Chelsea and Nick's family and friends to begin the New Year and their new life together! Congratulations to an absolutely adorable couple-We love you guys!

Oh, but New Years isn't over yet. Nicole & Andrew blew the roof off it (well, the balloons anyway) at Glen Sanders Mansion in Scotia. Decked in reds and whites, the mansion looked beautiful!

A mixture of tall (I'd say 8 feet are pretty tall!) and low and lush arrangements in brandy glasses decked the room with holiday cheer! Congratulations to Nicole and Andrew and THANK YOU for helping us ring in an amazing 2011 (so far!)

January kept us on our toes at the studio, but easy going enough to give us time to gear up for Valentine's Day, and what a fan-freakin-tastic Valentine's Day we had! You would think with V-day being on a Monday this year (and the fact that we practically TOLD people to order early) that Monday might have been a nice, relaxed, deliver the arrangements already ordered, kind of day. Wrong. We began taking orders at 830am and the phone never stopped ringing, while floods of last-minute shoppers came rushing through the doors in need of "the most amazing Valentine's Day flowers!!" And folks, we delivered. Thank you. Thank you. THANK YOU to everyone who supports Anthology, and not only during the holidays, but all year long!

This must be becoming a trend for us; a huge, amazing wedding the week after Valentine's Day. This year Allyssa & Peter were our first wedding of 2011 at the Hall of Springs in Saratoga. Tiffany Blue washed the walls while four of our custom trees surrounded their guests during their ceremony dripping with candle light.

As their guests enjoyed the cocktail hour, we, along with the Mazzone Group staff, transformed the ceremony into the reception where every detail came to fruition. It was breathtaking. You know you've done good when the bride runs up to you and exclaims, "OMG. I love it! You guys are amazing!" And as they say 'the rest is history'. We left the happy newlyweds to enjoy their wedding and we were off!

Congratulations again to Allyssa and Peter! Thank you for letting us be a part of your amazing day!

As February faded, March came in full swing. With Spring just in our grasps, Wedding Season is in full bloom and ready to burst! For the 2011 Wedding Season we have over 45 weddings booked and more booking every week! This has been an exciting last year and a half for us in Schenectady and we could not be more thrilled with our decision to move!

Anthology Studio at the Sterup Square Ballroom, Troy, NY

A HUGE congratulations goes out to Justin and Kayla Malloy who tied the knot last weekend at the Sterup Square Ballroom right outside Troy, NY!!

We built this manzanita card tree specifically for the couple and could not have been more thrilled with the outcome! A very natural arrangement, accompanied by green moss, was the kick off as guests entered into Sterup Square.
Kayla's colors were awesome! The purples and greens played off each other so well! To set her and Justin apart, we added a few green Cymbidium Orchid stems to her bouquet, while he wore a simple, but elegant orchid boutonniere.
Bridesmaids bouquets were sweet and simple, pulling many of the elements out of Kayla's bouquet!
Thank you to Justin and Kayla for having Anthology Studio as part of your wedding day! We hope you nothing but success and happiness as you enter into your life of matrimony!! Love you guys!

Anthology Studio at the Liberty Hotel in Boston, MA!!

Susanna and John...what can we say? Besides, YOU ROCK!!, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for inviting us to be a part of your II-Part wedding: Part I: The Liberty Hotel, Boston, MA (Part II to come). This couple with their amazing energy and lust for love and life were so awesome to work with! Susanna just happened to "like" us on Facebook, after a friend suggested she check us out, and it was true love from their on out. Susanna and John had seen some of our work and were really excited about a wedding we had done back in May- of course, with a twist! Good friends of the couple literally chopped down a tree in their yard so that we had the materials we needed to make these centerpieces personal, unique and FANTASTIC!

These gorgeous, nature inspired centerpieces were so full and lush with hydrangeas, stock, roses and birch branches that they nearly didn't fit on the tables!! (Don't worry, Susanna and John are not alcoholics, I think the venue staff were a little glass-happy...)
The rustic elements of these arrangements fit in perfectly with the decor at the Liberty Hotel!

Part I: Liberty Hotel, Boston, MA was a quaint, relaxing and beautiful ceremony with a small dinner reception. Susanna and John were able to celebrate with their close friends and loved ones, saving the real party (dancing and all) for Part II: Stockade Inn, Schenectady, NY.
Straight from the Bride and Groom themselves: Susanna: Words cannot describe how AWESOME and beautiful our flowers were yesterday. It was beyond my wildest imagination!! Thank you SO SO much!!! I loved everything. My bouquet was so touching and the centerpieces were SO SO great!!!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!! ♥
John: Testimonial from non flower heterosexual male...The flowers that you brought to our wedding were awesome!!! Glad that Susanna stopped by to give a personal thank you. Evan is the man, Kara is the wo-man, don't change baby, don't change. You rock!

Anthology Workshop Schedule 2010!

The holidays are JUST around the corner, believe it or not!! Many stores have even begun carrying Christmas/holiday merchandise already!! Don't worry though, here at Anthology Studio we like to take our seasons and holidays one at a time, as they come. Life goes too fast, why not enjoy the simple things in life like cooling temperatures, falling leaves, apple pies, cider and Flowers!!

We are gearing up for a fantastic Holiday Workshop Season!! We've got some great classes lined up for your creative enjoyment! All classes require pre-registration and pre-payment to ensure that we have enough supplies for all participants! :) Please feel free to pass this email along to friends and family!!

October: Friday, October 15th (Art Night) from 5-9pm: We will be hosting Barbara Katz as our Artist of the Month!! Barbara is a local woman who is loved by all! She frequents all of the going-on's in Schenectady and is known as "The Dancing Lady" around town! Barbara is a true artist at heart. She is constantly drawing pictures and giving them out to her friends around Downtown Schenectady. Unfortunately Barbara has been unable to acquire employment in the past few years and is a bit down on her luck. She is an extremely optimistic and positive woman who just needs a little help, and that is why we're here!! We will be selling her drawings and accepting donations to go towards her housing costs and new art supplies! Even if you cannot make it downtown for Art Night, your support for Barbara (even just a dollar or two!) could go a long way for her. Thank you for your thought and generosity! Please feel free to stop by the studio, or call for more information!!

Friday, October 22nd @ 5pm: Designer Pumpkin Carving! This workshop is purely for the love of the Halloween Season, with a little design twist! You are more than welcome to come and carve a Jack-O-Lantern, if you so desire, but we will also be offering "designer tips" on creating centerpieces out of pumpkins!

Cost will include the cost of the pumpkin and studio time! We will provide the necessary utensils (scoops, knives, etc.). If you have a specific tool that you could hardly carve without, bring it!

Cost:$15-$20 pending on pumpkin costs**

November: Tuesday, November 23rd @ 5pm: Dress up your dining room table with a custom Thanksgiving Centerpiece! This is a festive workshop dealing with your more traditional colors and elements of the season! A mixture of fresh flowers and dried elements (leaves, grasses, branches, cattails, etc.) will be used to create your very own one-of-a-kind Thanksgiving Centerpiece! All materials will be provided: container for arrangement, flowers, dried goodies, tools/snips, and creative direction for those who need a little push! This is a great outing for Mom's & Daughters, or a girls night out! (We will open a 2nd time slot if the first fills up!)

Cost: $40; includes all materials and studio time.

December: Friday, December 10th @ 5pm: Gear up for Christmas with your choice of Decorating a Boxwood Tree, a Balsam Kissing Ball or a Balsam Wreath! This is a great holiday workshop to really get you in the mood for a White Christmas! We will provide you will all the tools and materials necessary to make your custom piece!! Materials include: BoxwoodTree/KissingBall/Wreath, ribbon to create custom bows, high-end silk flowers, pine cones, berries, etc! This is a great way to start the holiday season and add a little design and charm to your home!

Cost: Boxwood Trees: $45; Balsam Wreaths: $40 (this is for a 24" [overall size] wreath: you can upgrade to a 36" for $70); and Balsam Kissing Balls: $45 (**You must specify which item you would like to decorate when you sign up!**)

Wednesday, December 22nd @ 5pm: Christmas Centerpieces! This is a great workshop for those who love the scents of all the great Christmas greens! The sweet smell of balsams, ceders, spruces and pines fill the studio as we show you how to blend all these elements and finish them off with some great flowers! Roses, lilies, tulips, amaryllis, spider mums (and more!) will fill your house with Holiday Cheer and classic Christmas colors!
Cost: $50; includes all materials, greens, flowers for centerpieces and studio time!

Anthology Studio does Pizza!! (Well...kinda, sorta.)

Last week, September 22, 2010, we were thrilled to host All Over Albany's 3rd Annual Tournament of Pizza! Select judges spent a few weeks taste-testing pizza's from local area pizzeria's in Schenectady, Saratoga, Troy and Albany!
These judges were serious about their pizza critique! Picking each piece apart (physically and emotionally...), getting down to the nitty-gritty of spices in the sauce, consistency of the cheese, even the ratio of crust to pizza!
One of the judges' sons tags along to refine his taste-buds for future tastings!
Each judge sampled 4 slices of cheese pizza. The top 2 cheese moved on to the "meat" category...Sausage!

New York City welcomes Anthology with open arms! Last weekend, September 25th, 2010, Evan packed up the van and headed south for our first big out-of-the-area event!!
A beautiful wedding adorned with reds, whites and champagnes filled the VIP Country Club in New Rochelle, NY.

The candle light and petals really bring out the classic demask in the ivory linens.

Simple and elegant arrangements sit atop silver risers to add a touch of class!

Fall Flowers, Fall Weddings, Fall for Anthology!

We find ourselves right on the cusp of the end of Summer and the beginning of Autumn. If there is one good reason to live in the Northeast, this is it. Let us not forget the AMAZING summer Mother Nature provided us with this year. Tons of sun, warmth and beautiful weddings filled our summer months (and when I say filled, I mean, FILLED.) We were thrilled to be a part of over 20 weddings and events from June to early September (do I hear an Anthology Studio Weddings Edition II in the works?) and could not be more happy with how everything turned out! A happy bride makes for a happy Anthology :)

But alas, fall is upon us. With leaves ever changing, temperatures dropping and a great color scheme in the works (thanks again, Mama N.) we are pumped and ready to keep the Anthology rollin'! Most people associate an anthology with a collection of stories or poems, but ancient translations lend themselves to a story told through flowers- and that is exactly what we do for our amazing couples. As our brides and grooms begin their lives together in matrimony, we do everything in our power to make the flowers and room decor match their personalities and make sure it is a great beginning to a lifelong story.

We are constantly pushing the envelope and thinking outside the box for our next great design, ensuring a unique spin on whatever ideas our couples throw at us. We refuse to be your run-of-the-mill flower shop, with over-used, unoriginal arrangements and crappy flowers. We want to be the best, so we provide only the best.

In just another week we will be making our first big leap out of the area, heading down to New York City for a fantastic wedding on the 25th! Many people ask if we travel- and the answer is- if we can- we will! We are booked for a double-reception wedding in the beginning of October, part I- Boston!!! We have truly begun to make quite a name for ourselves and cannot wait to see where our unique design techniques, ideas and willingness to do whatever we need to make someone's day as special as possible will take us!

Time Flies When You're Makin' Flowers!

Boy, oh boy- it has been FAR too long since we've updated this blog! If you are not already a fan on Facebook.com/AnthologyStudio- what are you waiting for!? Pictures and going-on's seem to find their way to our facebook page a little easier than they do to here, but that will be changing! Amongst weddings, parties, everyday flowers and all the other projects we find ourselves busy with, we have begun the steps to redesigning our website! This will hopefully make keeping up to date with Anthology-Doings a little easier on us all!

In the past 3 months A LOT has gone on here at the studio (and beyond)! Along with countless weddings, we were the official Flower Shop in Schenectady for the Secret Garden Tour in the Historic Stockade, we donated pieces to Proctor's Diamonds and Denim benefit, and we created some great pieces for a few birthdays, a couple wedding showers, a baby shower and a law-school graduation!

It's crazy for me to think back to high school and reminisce about prom; it seems like it was AGES ago (OK, OK, OK...it was only 7 or 8 years ago, but still!) So much has changed since I was in school; fashion trends, hair trends, even flower trends! I always believed I was ahead of the pack- having the craziest dresses, wearing my flowers in my hair, not trying TOO hard, but ALWAYS staying outside the box. Some things will never change.

Here at Anthology, we are constantly thinking outside the box, trying the latest techniques and staying up to date on all the latest trends (adding the Anthology twist, of course!) This years' Prom Season has been awesome! We've gotten the chance to make some really amazing and unique prom flower pieces to spice up the night! For those of you who were out of the loop this year (we know people are still getting to know who Anthology Studio is and what exactly it is we do) DO NOT FRET! We will be even MORE prepared for next years prom with so many great examples of our own work!

An Anthology Wedding in Saratoga!

It is now mid-May and I don't think I'm alone in saying "What the heck is going on with this weather?!" Nonetheless- we started this month off with a BANG! The first weekend in May we were graced with 80+ degrees and SUNSHINE!! We were lucky enough to have absolutely perfect weather for an outside ceremony at the Hall of Springs in Saratoga. Colleen Carey and Kyle Luther tied the knot on May 1st, 2010 in front of the reflection pool and moved on into the Hall of Springs for their reception.

Colleen and Kyle are an AMAZING couple- full of life, energy and great spirits; what a match made in heaven! Their centerpieces were a favorite of ours and we could not wait to make them!!
Hydrangeas, tulips, veronica, hypericum berries, moss, curly willow branches and cymbidium orchids made up her ceremony and reception pieces as well as her bridesmaids bouquets, while our beautiful bride carried a gorgeous bouquet full of miniature white calla lilies.

We wish them both the best of luck in all their new endevours and hope to be a part of many of their milestones from here out!

Custom Floral Arrangements by Anthology Studio

The flower inventory at Anthology Studio is constantly changing. We buy our stems from several different flower markets. While we do our best to buy LOCAL as often as possible, sometimes the weather and seasons do not permit. We are part of a global market of flowers and ship our flowers in from all over the world!

We do our best to keep a great variety of premium flowers in our cooler. On any given day you might see Birds of Paradise, Pincushion Protea, Ranunculus, Quince Branches, Cherry Blossoms, or the first Peonies of the season!

We encourage our customers and clients to request "unusual" or less common flowers- with at least 24 hours notice, we will ALWAYS do our best to fulfill any request!

Spring Weddings at Anthology Studio!!

We have jumped right into wedding season with 3 AWESOME weddings for the month of April!!

Kicking things off with a beautiful wedding at the Canfield Casino in Saratoga last Saturday (April 10th) our amazing couple, Melissa and Greg, tied the knot adorned with bright blues and yellows to bring a little color to this amazing hall! Hydrangeas, roses, gerbera daisies and delphinium were used to create their bold and beautiful arrangements!! They are an adorable couple and we were THRILLED to work with them!

That same day, we were honored to create the church decorations and bouquets/boutonnieres for a really fun couple, Jaye and Erik! They tied the knot at the 1st Reformed Church of the Stockade, right here in Schenectady!

The sun will come out, tomorrow!! (At least, it had better!) With Easter in a few days and springtime right under our noses, here at Anthology Studio, we are itchin' for some sunshine and warm weather!! Luckily there is good within all this gloom- time to update our followers on our To-Do's and Have-Done's!

Last week we were THRILLED to be asked to participate in Saber Technologies "Playing for Water, Power, Peace" held at Proctor's Theater, here in downtown Schenectady! We were in charge of not only the layout of the event, but the overall design and installation of numerous photographers' works, as well as a few installation pieces of our own! This fundraiser was held to help raise money to bring a life-changing technology to Tanzania- playgrounds that create energy! A HUGE thanks to Rob Gavel for sticking his neck out for Anthology Studio and affording us the opportunity to help make a difference downtown and throughout the world!
This week we are excited to donate a piece to Paul Mitchell The School's FUNraiser Hair Fashion Show tonight (3/31/10) at Proctor's Theater!! All proceeds are going to some great causes: The Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation, the Larry King Cardiac Foundation, Food 4 Africa, The Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation, and the Children’s Miracle Network & Haiti Relief!! Another GREAT event going on this week in Schenectady, "A Conversation on Education in the Capital District" is bringing actress, philanthropist and child's advocate GOLDIE HAWN to town for an exclusive luncheon! It's hard to believe that we are more than half way through March! Spring is just around the corner and it feels like summer, already! Here at Anthology Studio we are gearing up for prom season and starting off wedding season with a few awesome weddings in April!!

The tease of beautiful weather last week left us craving more!! With our doors wide-open people came flooding in to see exactly what Anthology was all about!! FLOWERS FLOWERS FLOWERS (and amazing ones at that)! We got to create some really awesome arrangements that just oozed with springtime cheer and helped to brighten some very special peoples' day!
Along with the good weather, came good company, good food and great wine for March's 3rd Friday/Art Night where we hosted our featured artist, Mark Eggers-Custom Pottery. The gorgeous evening was filled with a light breeze that swept many unsuspecting downtown visitors into our doors! We handed out a lot of business cards and impressed a lot of people who have not had the pleasure of experiencing Anthology Studio before! We are now proudly carrying more pieces of Mark's custom pottery for sale!

Anthology Studio's Flower Myths and Busters!

It has come to our attention that there may be some people that don't understand everything it is we do here at Anthology Studio- so, we have decided to do a little myth busting for all of you.

Myth #1 - I have to spend a lot of money to get flowers from Anthology.

Myth Buster- NOT TRUE!!! While we do maintain a minimum of for delivery- you can stop into our studio any day and pick out a single stem, or have a custom bouquet/arrangement put together for as little or as much as you'd like to spend!! It doesn't get much easier than that!

Myth #2 - The flowers at Anthology cost more than at other florists or at the grocery store.

Myth Buster-NOT TRUE! At Anthology Studio, we do not mark up our flowers or materials ridiculously, we simply buy the highest quality product we can so that we can pass on that quality assurance to our valued customers and clients!

Myth #3 - They are always closed!

Myth Buster- This couldn't be any more FALSE!! The truth of the matter is that our architect over-tinted our windows--this problem WILL be remedied this Spring!!!
We are open Monday: 10am-5pm Tuesday-Friday 10am-6pm Saturday: By appointment!

Myth #4-Sending flowers out of town/state is a hassle and difficult!

Myth Buster- FALSE! We are a member of different wire services, that allow us to send orders all over the country!! If you place your order before noon, most orders can have same-day delivery!!

Design is in the Details...Flowers, Flowers, Flowers!

Well, it's March- we've found ourselves in yet another new month and we haven't found a chance to sit still! That being said, there are few events from February that simply cannot go unmentioned...

Valentine's Day went off without a hitch- We were THRILLED that so many of our customers, new and old, wanted their very own custom Anthology arrangements!!

Being that Valentine's Day was on a Sunday this year, we kept our doors open for holiday hours! With a visit from our very own Cupid, the Anthology team conquered the streets spreading a little holiday cheer!! We ventured to the Famer's Market, at Proctor's Theater, and handed out free flowers to all the lovely ladies!! Keep an eye out for Cupid next year!! (A HUGE thanks to Kara's boyfriend for being a GREATTTT sport and a darn good Cupid!!)

If the busiest holiday of the year wasn't enough for one month; we got the ball rolling the next day with over 4500 Vendella roses for our beautiful bride, Anjella, and her amazing fiance, Sarmad!

The weekend after Valentine's day at the Hall of Springs in Saratoga, our awesome couple tied the knot in a traditional Persian ceremony decked to the nines with roses, custom built trees, crushed diamonds and candle light galore! Our team worked tirelessly all week creating magnificent rose balls of all sizes, amongst custom trees and "wisteria blooms".

Hall of Springs, Here we come!

Valentine's Day is OVER!!!! And while many florists take this time to unwind and relax from the busy holiday, here at Anthology Studio, the work never stops!! If you think you've seen roses, you've never seen this many roses in one place at one time. Our design team is gearing up for an AMAZING wedding at the Hall of Springs in Saratoga, NY this weekend, for our AMAZING bride, Anjella!! Over 4500 cream Vendella roses are prepped and ready to be created into centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnieres and amazing fluttering garlands! Check back for some great pictures from the big day!!

Don't miss us at New York in Bloom at the NYS Museum THIS weekend!!! Our piece will be displayed in "Metropolis" in front of the Statue of Liberty!! You won't be able to walk through the event without passing our display, so keep an eye out!! We will also be teaching a class, Sunday the 21st at 11:30am- "Thinking outside the vase"- (it's free...) Come one, Come ALL!!

Boxwood Decorating Workshop in Downtown Schenectady!

It may come as a huge surprise to some, but Christmas is only 14 days away! That means all last-minute shopping and decorating is in full effect!! So, to make this hectic time of year just a little more enjoyable, we held a Boxwood Tree decorating workshop- what a blast!! Everyone was provided with a boxwood tree, ribbons, ornaments and crystalized branches- and they were off! The creativity and the individuality of everyone's trees were great!! Just one way Anthology Studio is helping to spread the Holiday Cheer this season!!

Christmas in Schenectady

Last week, our team had the opportunity to decorate one of the houses in Schenectady's Stockade as apart of the "Homes for the Holiday". With the help of the Junior League of Schenectady we were partnered with the home of Rob and Dave, located at 29 N. Ferry. The feedback and support we received from those who were on the tour, along with the response from the home owners was amazing. Our most sincere gratitude to Rob and Dave for allowing us to come into their home and do what we do best!!

We hit the ground running with our Thanksgiving centerpiece classes, and can't believe the response! So, we're going to be offering a few more classes in December. The first is a Boxwood Tree class and then a Christmas centerpiece class. Make sure you contact us quickly so we can reserve a spot for you! Thanksgiving is upon us!

It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner, with Christmas in close pursuit (but let's not think about that for now...) Here at the new studio, the staff of Anthology is gearing up for our FIRST WORKSHOP!!!! And, if you couldn't tell, we're pretty darn excited!

Within the first week, our first workshop class was filled to the brim and we had to add another time slot!! WOOHOO!! On Monday November 23rd @ 6pm we will hold our FIRST workshop! It's only $35 per person and includes all the materials you'll need to create a one-of-a-kind centerpiece for your home!!

If you can't make the first class, that's OK!! We're just getting started!! Keep an eye out for announcements of new classes, coming SOON!!!

New Beginnings in Downtown Schenectady

After nearly 2 years of calling Albany home to Anthology Studio, we have moved our studio to the vibrant revitalized city of Schenectady. This truly is a homecoming and we are proud to be part of so many great things happening in Schenectady. It is interesting that the dream of our owner to be in that beautiful new building he drove by every day would become a reality so soon. Our new studio is beautiful, twice the size of our Albany location which gives us more space to work in, but also more space to relax in. The studio has an amazing warmth to it, and the look is far from what people would expect when they think of their local florist. But that is just it, we are so much more than just your local florist...

We are a flower design studio. We are a team of young designers with fresh ideas and innovative approaches to working with flowers, events and weddings. Our designers come from differing design disciplines each bringing a unique twist on the flower arrangements we make and the weddings we design. Our flower cooler always features a unique selection of premium flowers from the best growers. The great news is that we doubled the size of our cooler with our move so that we would be able to handle the increased demand for our one of a kind designs, and we are glad we did so.

With the launch of our new location we also introduced a new look for Anthology Studio. Being the designers we are, our new look did not quite satisfy us, so we began down a path to come up with the look for Anthology Studio that would not only excite our loyal customers, but ourselves as well. We are getting really close to the relaunch of newest look and can't wait to let you see it.
